Beautiful woodland elopements for those that want to celebrate their love between the bracken and the branches
Airdit is 36 acres of mixed forest, perched on top of a hill with amazing views across the Eden Valley towards St Andrews. It is filled with beautiful wildlife and fauna and due to its small size and east/west orientation, is blessed with natural light all day, often creating glorious sunrises and beautiful sunsets. We are about 15 minutes drive from both St Andrews and Dundee but upon arrival you will feel like you are a million miles from anywhere. We like to say we are remote enough to feel isolated but not so far away that we are hard to find!
Do what you want to do
One of the best things about eloping is that you really only have to think about what you both want. No trying to please anyone else, just a day devoted to celebrating the two of you.
At Airdit, you can pick anywhere in the woods to get married - out on the decking of the treehouse, on one of our 2 woodland glades, beneath an ancient oak, our lookout point with views down the Eden valley or anywhere else that may take your fancy! You can pick the date and even the time - getting married in the morning gives you the whole day to enjoy but tying the knot at dusk can be very special.
Being on a wooded hillside in a remote part of Fife might mean we can’t accommodate some of your more elaborate ideas but where possible, we will work with you to create the unique wedding you dream of!

The Glade
As we are on a hill we don't have many flat areas! However we found the flattest part, cleared it up a bit, threw some grass seed down and viola! This 15x15m area provides a blank canvas that is perfect for ceremonies, drinks receptions and could also host a small marquee or tent for wet weather alternatives.

Bracken Treehouse
Bracken Treehouse is our incredible romantic hideaway perched in the canopy of our trees. Sleeping 2 in a beautiful bed under a star gazing window, Bracken boasts an outdoor bath, an indulgent bathroom along with a fully fitted kitchen and log burner. It could be a light and airy space to get ready on the morning of the ceremony, as well as a cozy hide away for the newly weds to retreat to at the end of their big day.

Eden View
Eden View sits about half way up our entrance track and acts as an amazing view point down the valley towards the sea. This could be a fantastic spot for a ceremony, some photos or just somewhere to take a breather enjoy the view. On a nice summer’s day this could be gorgeous spot to have some food and fizz!

The rest of the woods....
Although we have suggested a few spaces that may be of interest, the woods is littered with other magical and amazing spaces that may take your eye. One such place is a small clearing below a tall Oak tree. There is also an old quarry, tumbling walls and towering ferns! What we have
Blank canvas space that couples can really make their own and design a celebration tailored to them.
Although our woodland feels remote, we are only a short drive from both St Andrews and Dundee, plus around an hour from Edinburgh Airport (did you know Dundee also has an airport?!)
4G/5G signal is surprisingly good!
A beautiful woodland setting with all the trees, bracken and wildlife you could desire.
Our stunning treehouse for couples accommodation, both before and after the ceremony.
Self catering accommodation and a couple of hotels nearby for any family and friends who wish to stay close to the venue.
What we don’t have
No barn or large permanent structure on site. There are plenty of fantastic big barn/byre venues nearby. If that’s your thing, you’re spoiled for choice!
Apart from those in the treehouse, we don’t have any facilities on site so power, toilets, tents, caterers would all need to be brought in. Luckily we know all the right people!
The access track into the woods is a small farm road and therefore we can’t accommodate large numbers of vehicles at one time.
We want to keep Airdit a special place for the it’s full time residents (the bats, deer, badgers etc) so large sound systems are not permitted.

Packages and Prices
Our all inclusive packages are made so that you both can relax and enjoy your special day without having to worry about the small stuff. There will be fabulous food and drink from the moment you arrive, a professional photographer to capture the ceremony in all its magic, gorgeous flowers for your special day and witnesses should you need them. Our elopement packages allow for either 2 or 3 night stays where you can relax and immerse yourself in our fabulous woods and surroundings whilst staying in the amazing Bracken Treehouse. The price for a 2 night midweek package is £2650 however longer stays and some weekends are available.
Airdit will not become a conveyer belt of weddings. We want your big day to feel special and unique. We also wish to preserve the woods as much as possible. To ensure this we will only be hosting a fixed number of elopements per year.

Our inclusive package gives you everything you need to have the wedding day you have dreamed of, however you need to sort the legal paperwork and your celebrant to perform the ceremony. Who conducts your wedding is a very personal choice and we are more than happy to point you in the direction of some really fantastic people who curate truly beautiful ceremonies. Finding a celebrant is a bit like finding the person you are marrying - you can speak to a few but when you know, you know.
